GBH axis

The Gut Brain Heart Axis represents the locus of mood, control, attitude, performance, and behavior. Without considering all three (the heart, mind, and gut) we are absent of a solution, for many if not most disorders people struggle to address, today. 

Analyzing this network, the myriad of mechanisms the body employs TO communicate, across all three channels, is crucial to better addressing what is an exponentially increasing body of young adults, in America and throughout the world, struggling with mental and physical health problems.

"whether you think you can, or you think you can't, you're right"

will seem trite, if you haven't eaten in days. TO ACCESS THE REALM of optimism, it could be argued, good food (a satiated gut, a satisfied internal nervous system) is necessary-- a prerequisite, if you will.

But then there are the stories of Christ, and Buddha, and many others: fasting

Each of us will see circumstances irrefutably unique. To compare, to compete, to dismiss one another's trauma, or personal battles, health related or otherwise... as "not good enough," (not BAD enough, not WORTH the effort: to care) is a cruel (yet: very "modern," very POP CULTURE right now, very "2025") practice. What happens, though, if we seek only to increase empathy.

If we allow the *self* to disappear, if only for a moment...

Can we consider shared needs? And what happens, if or when we do?

Gut

it's borderline nauseating how often we've all heard "trust your gut." ok but like, how (?!) pls don't tell me I am THE ONLY ONE, who's struggled to ASCERTAIN: the "gut" instinct, from: the nervous jitter, the inkling, what does it all mean... and how do i stabilize within this region

Brain

Cognitively, what's the operation status? Clear? Concise? Could I do a sudoku (not once, not ever have I been able to do these but like-- could I play chess, could I do math, right now? Can I think about specific details or do I need coffee

Heart

emotionally-- eMOTIVEly, what is the vibe. For me, in my chest, am I experiencing CALM? Am I aware of the good, am I able to acknowledge the "bad," is there a profound sense of motivation a WILLINGNESS TO PROCEED, PARTICIPATE-- AM I EXCITED TO BE ALIVE? INSPIRED??

shared needs: food, water, medicine, education, media

how do we work together: to stabilize, on these five fronts
